line the lawn

Yesterday, I shared how to decorate your construction site with banners and bunting - in fact if you can get your hands on some CAUTION or chevron that would be even better and tie some that from pillar to post.

For the Meri Meri Big Rig banner that I used, I decided to see what else I could make for the Construction Party from another banner or two, and in the end I came up with NINE new ideas, here are three today and will share the others tomorrow and the next day.

IDEA 1:  LINE THE WALKWAY
Cut up your garland and stick each motif to a bamboo skewer and then push into the ground all along your walkway to lead guests to your front door. We like to call these "lawn picks".

IDEA 2: DESIGNATE AREAS
Here the "lawn picks" were pushed into the sandpit to designate areas where the kids could dig and look for treasure.

IDEA 3: "ROAD" SIGNS
The motifs were stuck to the outside of frames, that can be used to label areas "drinks table", "food", "favours" etc. Or one could also frame photos of the birthday boy and display these around the party area. Another idea being taking photos of the kids, and then giving these customised frames as party favours (especially as many supermarkets and IKEA have reasonable priced frames).
