the 5 rings

In keeping with the Olympic flag, the Sports Day party was designed around the five colours with each team being a colour and each team member sporting that colour t-shirt. The predominant feature of the dècor were the giant balloons filled with helium that not only highlighted the colours but their round shape mimicked the rings too. The balloons also made for great take home favours afterwards for the kids!

Also, check out Bird's party for this great "ring" decor idea too, and her awesome party printables.

GOOD TO KNOW - Olympic Fun Fact
The symbol of the Olympic Games is composed of five interlocking rings, coloured blue, yellow, black, green, and red on a white field. This was originally designed in 1912 by Baron Pierre de Coubertin stated “These five rings represent the five parts of the world which now are won over to Olympism and willing to accept healthy competition”.
